15 min Alexander Technique Lie Down

Fall is kicking into high gear and I imagine you could use something that helps you rest your body and reset your connection to yourself.

This week I'm sharing a 15 minute recorded lie down which you can access by clicking the image below.

This is a perfect way to wind down and transition into your week, or try first thing monday morning.

If you've ever taken class with me you know that an Alexander Technique Lie Down is a simple awareness practice that has profound effects on how you feel in your body and move afterwards.

Try this practice if you:

  • have back pain, neck pain, tension in your jaw or eyes and need a way to recuperate

  • need a way to reset throughout the day or week when you start to feel fatigued, tense, or uncomfortable in your body

  • need an invitation to slow down and come back to yourself

  • want something to practice in between your private sessions

I explain more in the video but basically you're going to lie on the floor, on your back, and I'll guide you through a process of body-awareness and a simple movements.

The video includes:

  • an introduction to doing lie downs and their benefits

  • an audio guided lie down to rest and reset your body

  • specific attention to the back, neck, jaw, and eyes

  • small movements that encourage flow and connectivity through your whole spine and back

Because this video is an excerpt from a previously recorded class called Back Care Basics, it will end a bit abruptly. Once the video ends, you can continue to stand up, notice what it's like to arrive back to standing, and take a walk around your space, paying attention to what you notice along the way.

Carve out 15 minutes of uninterrupted time and give it a try!

Enjoy,
Alice

P.S. If you run into questions as you go through this practice feel free to reach out me.
